About the Fourth School

In the Fall of 2023, the Board approved the Design-Build Process for the Fourth School Site in Plumas Lake Elementary School District (PLESD).

When Completed the Fourth School will:
  • Be centrally located within our District.
  • Create new classroom capacity to support growth for an addition 800+ new students.
  • Include enrichment classrooms for science, technology, art, music and band.
  • Provide athletic facilities, including a gymnasium, track, sports fields and other athletic spaces.
  • Support the students and community of Plumas Lake!
Phase One: On January 23, 2025, the PLESD School Board decided to begin phase one of this project. This decision happened after the local bonds needed for the complete school to be built did not pass in November of 2024. Phase One will build 16 classrooms, the Multi-Purpose Room, and hopefully the office.

Funding for Phase One: PLESD will use the same amount of money from Developer Fees (approximately $20 million) and State School Facility Funds (approximately $20 million) that were planned for the complete project. Also, PLESD will take out a loan on future builder fees for $10 million.

Funding for Futue Phases: To be determined.
